Publication Ethics

To ensure rigor, honesty, and respect throughout the publication process, Brotes Científicos follows the ethical guidelines outlined below.

Research Integrity:

Research must be honest, clear, and accurately reflect the actual work carried out by students. Authors must not fabricate, conceal, or alter results to make them appear more favorable than they are.

Acceptable Practices:

  • Reporting that an experiment did not produce the expected results
  • Explaining what was learned even when the original hypothesis was not supported by the findings

Unacceptable Practices:

  • Copying the work of others without proper acknowledgment or citation
  • Presenting results that were not genuinely obtained through the research process

Authorship and Contribution:

Individuals listed as authors of an article must have participated in the design, development, or writing of the research project. If the work was conducted collaboratively, all individuals who genuinely contributed should be included as authors.

In addition:

  • Authors must always identify their school and the teacher or facilitator who guided the research process
  • Any external support received from universities, laboratories, or other institutions must also be properly acknowledged in the article

Complaints and Appeals Policy:

If an article is rejected or returned for revision, the editorial team will provide a clear explanation and specific recommendations for improvement.

If authors believe an error has occurred or that they have been treated unfairly, they may contact the journal at: brotescientificos@usach.cl

All complaints and appeals will be addressed in a respectful, transparent, and collaborative manner through open dialogue with the authors who submitted the work.
