Abstract
Psychological pressure is a state of mind that students live daily. It fulfills a fundamental role in motivational states and responsiveness of the individual. When performing cognitive tasks as mathematical problems in a limited time, people are subjected to acute psychological pressure. In this framework, the Emotiv EPOC was used to collect data and analyze changes in brain activity, specifically in the beta wave involved in highly demanding cognitive processes, in subjects submitted to different levels of pressure. The results show that the pressure inhibits the responsiveness and that there is a correlation between the amplitude of the beta waves and the pressure.
