Abstract

Fecal feces belonging to Culpeo fox (Lycalopex culpaeus) and Gray fox (Lycalopex griseus) are collected in sectors with high and low public influx within the Río Clarillo National Park (located in the commune of Pirque, Metropolitan Region) with the purpose of determining the presence of remains of anthropogenic (human) origin within them and to be able to compare them. It was found that in the samples collected within the areas of high public influx, there was a significantly greater presence of these remains than in the areas of low influx. Inside the remains it is possible to find rubber, plastic, eva rubber, band-aid patch, among others, waste that could have negative consequences on the health of the organisms of Lycalopex sp that consume them. Therefore, it is necessary to promote CONAF campaigns and initiatives that seek to prevent tourists who visit SNAPSE (Sistema Nacional de Áreas Protegidas del Estado) areas from exerting a negative effect on the endemic fauna of parks and/or country reserves.
