Since its establishment in 2016, Brotes Científicos has been part of the Directorate for Scientific and Technological Research (DICYT) at the University of Santiago de Chile. In 2021, the journal strengthened its digital presence and social media outreach to foster closer engagement with educational communities, introducing new characters such as Brote the Lightbulb, the journal's mascot and central character.

Over the years, we have published research conducted by students from various regions of Chile, addressing topics ranging from local biodiversity to social issues. Through these contributions, we seek to promote scientific culture and critical thinking among new generations.
