Abstract

In Quilicura, soil degradation is a problem that is affecting the quality and quantity of perimeter vegetation. For this reason, it was decided to solve this problem through its evaluation and recovery. Through this research it is expected to obtain specific data to determine the zones of Quilicura with degraded soils, and recover them. Within our research, it is important to recognize how soil quality is related to the transit of people produced by urban expansion in the district of Quilicura. On the other hand, to solve and reduce the degradation by compaction of the soil in the area. The use of the native flora and its abilities to survive was investigated, as well as the diminution of the effects produced by degradation. This solution was chosen because it does not occupy any chemical product that may harm the ecosystem, and also, it increases the use of native species for reforestation. In the first instance, the current status of the places visited will be evaluated, for which a sampling plan will be generated. Secondly, tests will be carried out with the Mayú plant (Sophora macrocarpa), since according to the bibliographic search, it can grow in soils with this level of degradation.
