Abstract

The interest in this topic stems from the impact the COVID-19 pandemic had on the population. Despite the implementation of preventive measures, the number of infections continued to rise. The pandemic disrupted daily routines and limited family and social interactions, while also creating new challenges in academic, professional, and social spheres. This situation gave rise to questions regarding the virus’s behavior -questions that proved difficult to answer due to the novelty of the event and the increasing spread of inaccurate information.

Against this backdrop, and in search of evidence-based explanations, population density was identified as a factor potentially influencing the virus’s spread. Statistical analysis of this factor offers possible explanations regarding the mechanisms that contributed to the rapid, widespread transmission of COVID-19.
